Pineapple can antenna for D-Link DWL-650
I hacked my wireless card d-link dwl-650 and, using a pineapple can I built an antenna with 8/10 dB gain..it’s amazing!
First of all I opened the card and using a solder and iron I changed one of the capacitors positions (C145 or C144) to ANT3. It was the must difficult phase..
After that I soldered a cable and the attached female F connector to the dwl-650 ANT3.
The female F connector (used frequently in satellite to decoder connections) is one of the poorest for this kind of connection so I raccomend, if you can, to use N or SMA connectors.
In the next phase find a can and use it to build the antenna. The can is an object with two parameters, a diameter (D) and a length. The most important is D, for a wireless 802.11 connection, it should be from 90mm to 110mm. Then you have to insert a part of the cable inside the can.. for this you have two possibilities:

The can I used have a 8.4cm diameter and a 11.5cm length.
Using netstumbler a better performance could be seen when the pineapple can is attached to the wi-fi card.
